Open Doorways Counseling, a professional counseling service, provides transformative pathways to foster healing and personal growth for its clients. Our mission is to create a nurturing environment in which adults, adolescents, and children feel safe to explore the numerous possibilities that will add to their awareness, well-being, and sense of personal power.

The two owners of Open Doorways Counseling bring a wealth of experience to their business. Together they have worked 25 years as professional educators and counselors in Ft. Bend Independent School District in Sugar Land, Texas; working with adults, adolescents and children to help resolve such issues as, strategies for learning with ADHD, anger management, stress reduction, parenting skills, and teen coping skills.

Counseling Information and Agreement

Counseling is a relationship between counselor and client based on a body of research aimed at helping the individual resolve his/her own problems with specified counseling techniques. As we work together to clarify key issues, we can challenge and change behaviors to create your chosen objectives. Our goal is to help you resolve problems on your own and to enhance and broaden your decision-making skills.

In a professional relationship, it is important for you to understand our ethical obligations. In accordance with counseling standards, we cannot have a "social" relationship. All interaction between us will be confidential, except in the event that you sign a release form authorizing us to inform someone else, or if we believe you are in danger to yourself or to others, or if we are ordered by a court to disclose information.
